Often for disabled children, the biggest problem they face is discrimination, which can prevent them from attending school at all. To overcome this lack of understanding, we train teachers to ensure disabled children can attend and thrive in schools.
Children like Claude in Rwanda – who after contracting polio as a small child has been unable to walk without crutches. Despite being very bright, his disability meant he was unable to attend school. Now thanks to our training programme, the teachers at his local school have been able to include him in their classes, where he is doing extremely well.
